The Highland Park Chamber of Commerce ceased operations effective Dec. 31, 2008. Chamber President Duane Beers, owner of Highland Park Automotive, cited lack of interest, including dwindling membership rolls.  This ends a 17-year run as Highland Park's only townwide business organization.
